Whether you are guilty or not doesn’t matter. Bail money is used to get out of jail until your court appearance. If you show up to your court date and pay the court the full amount of bail, you will get your bail money back.
How Bail Bonds Work
Bail exists simply to get you out of a seriously unwanted situation! Most importantly, we can help you, a friend, or a loved one escape jail quickly. The amount required is only 10 percent. The bail amount is based on the seriousness of the charges, a person’s record, and the probability of the individual showing up for the court date.
Where Does The Bail Money Go?
- Paying the Court: The bail money goes to the court until you appear in court or fail to appear. If you fail to appear, the court keeps your money. If you show up, you get your money back.
- Paying A Bail Bonds Company: If you hired a bail bondsman, you usually pay about 10% of the total bail money to the bondsman, and the bondsman pays the court the full amount. It is then the bondsman’s responsibility to make sure you make it to your court appearance if they are to receive their money back from the court; the money you give the bondsman is non-refundable and is a service fee.
